“Embracing my identity as a member of the LGBTQ community has improved my athletic performance and quality of life. As the first out-LGBTQ person on the US National Fencing Team, I hope to show fencers of all ages that it’s possible to be out and compete at a high level in fencing. I am proud to be an Athlete Ally Ambassador because their efforts to create inclusive LGBTQ environments, champion equality, and more, align perfectly with my personal, professional, and athletic values.”
