I believe Sport is a powerful platform for positive social change and positive mental health/well-being. Athletes are in a perfect position to model what a compassionate, inclusive society can look like. All that matters on the field of play is being a good, committed, positive teammate, and an honorable competitor – or simply, being a good human. Everyone deserves the opportunity to be treated equally, to live an extraordinary life, perform at their best and contribute to their community and society. As someone who felt the pain of being shut out of the highest levels of sport for simply being female, I will do whatever I can to support my LGBTQ+ friends in not only participating but being leaders in the sport world. I am grateful to Athlete Ally for leading the way and am honored to stand with you as an Athlete Ambassador.
