This Pride, we have much to be grateful for, and a renewed urgency in our work championing LGBTQI+ inclusion in and through sports. We’re facing what has been a record-breaking year for anti-LGBTQ legislation, including 75 bills and counting seeking to ban transgender youth from sport which have already passed in 7 states. Thankfully, we’re not in this fight alone. Thank you to every Athlete Ally Ambassador, coach, fan, partner organization, Board and Associate Board member, corporate sponsor and donor who makes our work possible.
Here are a few different ways you can support Athlete Ally throughout Pride month. We’ll continue to update this page as new opportunities are added. And please stay tuned to our social media (@AthleteAlly) for updates on events and other special announcements throughout the month!
-
- Our Playing for Pride campaign brings together athletes who donate to Athlete Ally throughout Pride per goal, game, etc, and ask fans to match their gift. This year, we’re donating 50% of proceeds up to a 5K donation to the Black Women’s Player Collective — a nonprofit organization that elevates the image, value, and representation of Black women as athletes and leaders in business, industry, and public and private institutions — and will soon be announcing a long-term partnership. Players on the roster so far include members of the USWNT, MLS, NWSL, USL and US Rowing teams. Please support the campaign here, and follow us on social to see posts from your favorite players!

- We are incredibly grateful to YngDna, Zaire Wade, Bleacher Report and Nicole Zizi Studio who are celebrating and raising awareness for the LGBTQI+ community through a sustainably produced capsule collection benefiting Athlete Ally. Each garment features the number of anti-trans legislation that’s currently on the desks of state and local officials. 50% of net proceeds from the sale of select merch sold 6/24/21-7/31/21 to @AthleteAlly. The collection is available for purchase here.🏳️⚧️

- Athlete Ally Ambassador and champion climber Alex Johnson introduced us to non-alcoholic craft beer company Athletic Brewing. For Pride month, they’ve introduced Rainbow Wall, a collaborative Strata-hopped hazy blood-orange IPA that will raise funds for an Athlete Ally symposium to help coaches create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ youth.
-
- Premier Lacrosse League has developed a special Pride shirt with proceeds going towards Athlete Ally, and a portion of ticket sales for PLL’s Pride weekend June 12-13 (use Promo code “PRIDE”) will go to Athlete Ally as well. You can also buy a “Lacrosse is for Everyone” shirt here!

- Bluewire Communications Director Megan Reyes developed an amazing shirt advocating for inclusion in sports, and has partnered with us on a special Pride version with proceeds going towards Playing for Pride! Check out the shirt here.
- In collaboration with Beyond Sticks, founder Chrissy Lewis Summers has donated her shirt design to Athlete Ally. Beyond Sticks is a character based field hockey organization founded on the core belief that the life lessons we take from sport last long after we hang up the uniform. In athletics, coaches encourage combining unique strengths to win as a team on the field. Therefore, we have an opportunity to play beyond the game and model that same celebratory inclusion off the field. This design conveys both Beyond Sticks’ and Athlete Ally’s belief that all athletes, coaches and sports supporters can play beyond the game with pride. Check out the shirt here!
